Dale E Benskin
December 24, 2022

Long time Marshall County resident Dale E. Benskin died peacefully on 24 December 2022. Dale was a self-employed machinist for over 50 years and operated Benskin Motor Service in Marshalltown. Dale was active and proud to be a member of the Kiwanis Matins in Marshalltown, the Marshalltown Area Restorers Club, and the Antique Airplane Association. Dale enjoyed antiques and classic cars and antique airplanes. At one point, he had over 12 classic and antique cars and several aircraft.

Dale enjoyed his friends dropping by his shop in Marshalltown and shared cookies and coffee with everyone who stopped. Dale was preceded in death by his wife, Jean (Wiese) Benskin; son, Kevin Dale Benskin; and his parents, Harley and Mary Benskin. Those left to cherish his memory are his son, Douglas (Carol) Benskin of Virginia; daughter-in-law, Rita Benskin of Missouri; and two grandchildren.

Friendship services will be held at a later date with a private family burial. The family thanks Gentiva Hospice for their excellent care and would like memorials sent to Gentiva Hospice, 5399 Chimra Road, Panora, IA 50216. The Wallace Family Funeral Home and Crematory in Newton is handling the arrangements.

Dale took me for a ride in his BIPLANE. It was an incredible experience. I felt like snoopy hunting for the red Baron. Never could figure how the canvas seat belt worked. So I just tied a knot in it and hung on for dear life. Had a blast.
