Col. Frasher Rites Friday
Colfax – Military services for Col. (Ret.) Ross Putnam Frasher, 55, of Littleton, Colo., a former resident of Colfax will be at 2 p.m. Friday at the Methodist church in Colfax.
Military personnel from Fort Leonard Wood, Mo., will be in charge of services.
Lt. Col. John Nix, chaplain stationed at Fort Riley, Kan., and the Rev. Laurence Garrett, minister of the church, will officiate. Burial will be in McKeever Cemetery near Colfax.
Surviving are three sons, Douglas P. of Denver, Colo., David E. of Fort Collins, Colo. and James Russell of Littleton, Colo.; a daughter, Mrs. Donald (Rosslyn) Ransome of Indianhead, Md.; two grandchildren; and his father, Dean Putnam Frasher of Elkhart, Ind.
Col. Frasher was a member of the Episcopal Church in Chariton.
He retired Dec. 31, 1969, at Fort Riley, Kan., after serving for 33 years in the U.S. Army.
The son of Dean and Mabel Johnson Frasher, he was born Oct. 8, 1914 in Des Moines, and was a 1932 graduate of Western Military Academy at Alton, Ill.
He was married to Margaret Shissler June 16, 1937 at Colfax.
Col Frasher died Tuesday on the way to Skiff Memorial Hospital in Newton.
