Mrs. Duncan, Of Monroe, Dies Here
Monroe (Special to The Daily News) – Mrs. Mary Duncan, 78, native of Owen Sound, Canada, died at the Skiff Memorial hospital in Newton this morning at 3:30 o’clock after being admitted Dec. 8. Mrs. Duncan had been in poor health for some time.
Mrs. Duncan, the former Mary Gardner, was born Nov. 27, 1865, in Owen Sound Canada, daughter of natives of Scotland. She came to Jasper county at an early age and has lived around Colfax and Monroe since then. She also spent some time with her daughter, Mrs. H. R. Delmeh, in Honolulu, Hawaii.
She is survived by three sons, D. W. Duncan of Monroe, and H. G. Duncan and D. T. Duncan of Colfax; two daughters, Mrs. F. A. Moeckly of Colfax and Mrs. Delmeh of Hawaii; two sisters and three brothers.
Tentative plans for the services are set for Sunday at 2:30 o’clock at the Presbyterian church in Colfax.
