Virginia "Dolly" Perrin
1944 - 2022

Please share a memory of Virginia to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

Virginia "Dolly" Perrin, the daughter of James Wesley and Anna Flavena (Hewitt) Mallory, was born February 16, 1944, in Newton, Iowa. She graduated from the Newton Senior High School with the class of 1962. In 1963, Virginia married Rollie Welcher. To this union four children were born: Lori, Wendie, Shawn and Frank.

In 2011, Virginia was united in marriage with Jack Perrin in Newton, Iowa. Virginia had worked as a Para Pro, an ER secretary, a secretary at Newton Manufacturing, and an office assistant in the engineering department at Maytag. Virginia enjoyed her time with her church family. She was a longtime Sunday school teacher and also enjoyed sewing, gardening, canning, and spending time outdoors. Virginia loved her family and all children. Virginia was a member of the First Christian Church in Newton; the Women's Circle and the Prayer Chain group.

Virginia died on Tuesday, October 4, 2022, at Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines, Iowa. She was 78 years old. Virginia was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Jack Perrin; a daughter, Wendie Ann Welcher, in infancy; and a grandson, Steven Welcher.

Those left to honor Virginia's memory include her children, Lori Welcher (Dave Farver), Shawn (Tammy) Welcher, and Frank (Jessie) Welcher; her seven grandchildren, Ashley Mathern, Afton Osterberger, Gatlin Leytham, Lisa Montgomery, Michael Welcher, Marshall Welcher and Joseph Preece; her twelve great grandchildren; her sisters, Illa Ingle and Sharon Hunt and her brother, Jim Mallory.

Funeral Services will be held, at 11:00 am, Saturday, October 8, 2022, at the First Christian Church in Newton. The family will greet friends from 10:00 am until service time at the church on Saturday. Memorials may be designated in Virginia's name (Please make checks payable to Shawn Welcher) and may be left at the church or at Pence ~ Reese Funeral Home.
