Gilbert S. Ingle, 80, of USA Healthcare Center in Urbandale died of complications of Alzheimer’s disease there Tuesday. Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Southtown Funeral Home, with burial at Vandalia Cemetery in Vandalia.
Mr. Ingle was born in Vandalia and had lived in Runnells before moving to Des Moines 33 years ago. He was a retired self-employed milk hauler with Gordon’s Wholesale and a member of Fort Des Moines Church of Christ. He enjoyed gardening.
He is survived by his wife, Eunice; a son, Neal of Southlake, Texas; two daughters, Marlys Hassel of Des Moines and Linda Waugh of Idaho Falls, Idaho; four brothers, Lester of Iowa Falls, Glenn of Ankeny, Marvin of Prairie City and Vern of Swan; nine grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
Friends may call from 2 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to his church or the Alzheimer’s Association.
