Donald "Don" Leslie Catlett
October 8, 1943 ~ August 20, 2022 (age 78)

As per Donald’s wishes he was cremated, and a Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, September 3, 2022, at 3:00 p.m. at the AmericInn in Newton.

Donald Leslie Catlett, the son of Lowell and Doris Leslie Catlett was born on October 8, 1943 in Nemaha, Nebraska. Don served his country in the U. S. Army from July of 1961 until December of 1964, during the Vietnam War.

He worked as a production worker and supervisor for the Maytag Company for many years. Don enjoyed fishing, woodworking, doing his own mechanic work on cars, cooking, baking and socializing with people.

Don died on Saturday, August 20, 2022, at his home in Newton surrounded by the love of his family. He was 78. He was preceded in death by his parents; wives, Harriet Routon and Charlene Slycord; life partner, Kathie Danley; daughters, Cora Breckenridge and Sarah Hubbard; granddaughter, Tera and brother, Gary Catlett.

Those left to honor Don’s memory are his children, Janet Baumgarner of Florida and Teresa Pelock of Newton; his step-children, Debbie (Chris) Van Sickle of Newton, Shelley (Jim) Bailey of Indianola, Dannille “Danni” (David) Harwood of Newton, and Chris (Sue) Danley of Florida; grandchildren, Amanda, Kasi, Jessica, Olivia and Zappa; step grandchildren, Erica, Erin, Morgan, Brandon, Christina, and Wesley; his great-grandchildren, Adalie, Peyton, Kale, Matilyn, Christian, Janiah, Noah, and Aliyah; step great-grandchildren, Marleigh and Aurora; siblings, 21 siblings and his cat, Zoe.
