Wanda Rae (Berry) Kline
March 27, 1928 ~ July 20, 2022 (age 94)

Wanda Rae Kline, 94, of Newton died on Wednesday, July 20, 2022, at St Luke’s Hospital in Cedar Rapids. A private funeral service will be held at the Wallace Family Funeral Home and Crematory.

Wanda, the daughter of Arthur and Emma (Kloppenborg) Berry, was born on March 27, 1928, in Baxter. Wanda would tell of walking to school many miles growing up and then graduating from Mingo High School. Wanda was united in marriage with Junior Kline in December of 1945. She was a hard working farmer’s wife and knew how to drive a tractor and milk cows. In 1977, when her Junior became ill, she stayed at his side and cared for him for 11 months until his death on July 20, 1978.

Wanda enjoyed quilting, embroidery work, and gardening. She was known to have quite the green thumb. Wanda liked going to garage sales and antiquing. She was an excellent cook and had a wonderful memory; especially when it came to dates. She also loved collecting cookbooks and swans.

Wanda is survived by her children, Doug (Judy) Kline of State Center and Janyce Klyn of Oskaloosa; her grandchildren, Andrea (Marc) Halbloom, Rachelle (Steve) Johnson, Todd Kline, Jason (Samantha) Kline, Eric (Jenny) Klyn, and Kristen (Rob) Walker; her great-grandchildren, Jessica (Clint) Hilleman, Kelsiann and Alexander Halbloom, Lane (Kelsey) Kline, Jared Johnson, Wyatt and Whitney Klyn, Cael, Cody, and Cole Kline, Drake, Avery, Brooklyn, and Bennett Walker, and Catie and Cailynn Kline; her great-great-grandchildren, Rose, Cora, and Lloyd Hilleman and June and Layla Kline; brother, Paul Berry of Newton; her aunt, Ruby Davis of Newton; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
