Joann Ileane Carter
November 16, 1936 - May 23, 2022Joann Ileane Carter, age 85 of Colfax, passed away on Monday, May 23, 2022 at MercyOne in Newton. There will be no service planned for Joann and she will be buried at the Colfax Cemetery at a later date.
The daughter of Marvin and Dorothy (Wade) Howell, Joann was born on November 16, 1936 in Colfax. She graduated from Colfax High School. Joann enjoyed going to flea markets, square dancing, traveling and selling items on Ebay. Joann was an annual Winter Texan.
Those left to honor her memory include her children, Brick and Terrie Kono, Wendy and Doug Patterson, Susanna Kono, and Jason and Kim Kono; 16 grandchildren, and 26 great grandchildren. Preceding her in death were her parents, husband, Richard "Dick" Carter, two sons, Steven Lowell and Jared Eugene and all of her siblings.
