Elizabeth James Dies Saturday; Rites Held Today
Lynnville – Funeral services for Mrs. Harold (Elizabeth) James, 69, of Lynnville, were held today at the Church of god in Lynnville.
The Rev. Al Johnson, pastor of the church, and the Rev. Sidney Brown of Grinnell conducted services.
Burial was in the Woodland Cemetery in Lynnville.
Harden Funeral Home in New Sharon handled arrangements.
Memorial contributions to the Church of God at Lynnville will be accepted.
Mrs. James died Saturday at the Skiff Memorial Hospital in Newton.
Survivors are her husband; four sons, Russell of Grinnell, Charles of Sully, Robert of Minot, N.D., and Earl of Lynnville; 11 grandchildren; and a sister, Mrs. Lloyd (Blanch) James of Searsboro.
She was preceded in death by her parents, a daughter and a brother.
A longtime member of the Church of God in Lynnville, she had served as a Sunday school teacher for many years.
The daughter of Charles and Anna Varen Kamp Roten, she was born Jan. 29, 1907 in Sully.
She was married Mar. 30, 1927 at Oskaloosa.
