Louisa Baker Dies Saturday; Services Today
Searsboro – Funeral services for Mrs. Everett (Louisa E.) Baker, 85, of Searsboro, a longtime resident of Searsboro, were held today at the Smith Funeral Home in Grinnell.
The Rev. David Black, pastor of the Nazarene Church in Grinnell, conducted services. Burial was in the Independent Order of Odd Fellows Cemetery in Searsboro.
Survivors are a son, Raymond Baker of Clear Lake; three grandchildren, Mrs. James (Wanda) Powell of Newton, Mrs. Tildford (Norma) Innis of Grinnell and Donald Baker of Grinnell; eight great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandson.
She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, and two brothers, Thedus Mitchell and Arthur Mitchell.
Mrs. Baker was a member of the Rebekah Lodge in Searsboro.
The daughter of John and Ella Cooper Mitchell, she was born June 6, 1891 in Searsboro and attended Searsboro schools.
She was married Feb. 16, 1909 in Grinnell.
She died Saturday evening at the Skiff Memorial Hospital in Newton.
