Mary E. Nail, 69, of Rte. 2, Kellogg, died Wednesday, July 22, at Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines of injuries she sustained in a traffic accident near Grinnell.
Funeral services were conducted Monday at the Smith Funeral Home, with the Rev. Raymond Weets of the Berean Assembly of God Church in Des Moines officiating. Music was provided by James and Milton Severe, and pallbearers ere John Coleman, George Gray, Dan Flanagan, Bill Kattener, Buck Klieman, Orval Nail and Alvia Snow.
Burial was in Rock Creek Cemetery. Memorials in Mrs. Nail’s name may be made to the American Legion Hall in Grinnell.
The daughter of Lee and Oral Staley Coleman, she was born Oct. 14, 1922, in Tracy. She attended schools in Tracy and Harvey.
She was married to George Nail Dec. 14, 1940, in Harvey. The couple moved to Des Moines in 1942, and she worked as a babysitter and homemaker. The couple moved to Rock Creek lake in 1982.
She was a member of the Union Park Christian Church of Des Moines and the Grinnell American Legion Auxiliary.
Surviving are her husband; three sons, Lee, Greg and Rich, all of Des Moines; nine grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; one sister, Nina Gray of Rock Island, Ill.; and one brother, John Coleman of New Boston, Ill.
She was preceded in death by her parents; one sister, Darlene Kludy; and one brother, Elmer Coleman.
