Dustin Christopher Doran, 41, formerly of Newton died on Saturday, March 26, 2022, at his home in Clinton. A celebration of life will be held at 11:00 a.m., Monday, April 11, 2022, at the Wallace Family Funeral Home and Crematory. The family will greet friends after the service with a lunch at the funeral home. Memorials in Dustin’s name (checks made payable to Kathee Shaffer) may be left at the Wallace Family Funeral Home and Crematory. Any donations will be used to create a memorial in his name.

Dustin, the son of Chris and Kathee (Davis) Doran, was born on January 10, 1981 in Des Moines. He grew up in Belmond and graduated from Belmond-Klemme High School in the class of 1999. In Belmond, Dustin worked for the Eaton Corporation and later for Fareway. He later attended the welding program at DMACC and moved to Newton. Dustin continued to work for Fareway in Newton and Des Moines and most recently had worked for UFP Technologies in Clinton. Dustin loved music and had played drums in a band and was a DJ. He also liked to go fishing, ride motorcycles, and collect hats and shoes. Dustin was a talented artist and had a passion for drawing and painting.

Dustin is survived by his mother, Kathee (Mark) Shaffer of Newton; father, Chris Doran of Newton; son, Gavin Williams of Newton; three siblings, Robbie Doran of Newton, Easter Illingworth of Denver, Colorado, and Nathan Dewar of Newton; and his nieces and nephews, Madison Doran, Drew Doran, and Elijah Doran. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Bud and Norma Davis and paternal grandparents, Paul and Marian Doran.
