Services for Cecil V. Johnston, 76, of 2027 Lyon St. will be at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at Hamilton’s Funeral Home. Burial will be in Vandalia Cemetery in Vandalia.
Mr. Johnston died of an apparent heart attack Saturday while at a Des Moines Shopping center at 2539 Frederick M. Hubbell Ave.
A Des Moines native, Mr. Johnston was a retired truck driver and a member of Teamsters Local 90.
Survivors include his wife, Emma; three sons, Howard of Boise, Idaho, and Lester and Fred, both of Des Moines, two stepsons, Jack Long of Centerville and Teddy Long of Carlisle; six daughters, June Neuman of Chattanooga, Tenn., Hattie Mae Selby of Centerville, LaVerna Vandzant, Velda Jordan and Vearlie Norris, all of Des Moines, Velma Yahnke of San Bernadino, Calif.; three stepdaughters, Betty Anderson of Hutchinson, Kan., Margaret Debo of New Brighton, Pa., and Louise Knight of Des Moines; 28 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.
