Mrs. Mayers Rites Monday
Services for Mrs. Augusta Mayers, 88, of 1328 Harding road, who died Friday, will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday in Hamilton’s Funeral Home. Burial will be at Vandalia Cemetery.
Born near Berlin, Germany, Mrs. Mayers came to this country at the age of 3 and was reared in the Prairie City – Vandalia area. She lived in Runnells before coming here in 1909.
Mrs. Mayers was a member of the Runnells Congregational Church, Leech-Rebekah Lodge and the Women’s Relief Corps.
Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Josephine Clark of Des Moines and Mrs. Marie M. Rhodes of Aurora, Ill.; a granddaughter, and a great-grandson.
