Russell Miller Services Tuesday
Prairie City – Funeral services for Russell Miller, 51, a longtime resident of Vandalia, will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Vandalia Church of Christ.
Evangelist Thomas Dennis of Mt. Ayr will conduct the services. Burial will be in Vandalia Cemetery.
Walters Funeral Home at Prairie City is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Miller died Saturday afternoon at his home.
He is survived by his wife; a daughter, Jeanne; a son, Gary, both at home; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Josiah Miller of Vandalia; a sister, Mrs. Cecil (Norma) Brunner of Prairie City; and six brothers, Gale of Spokane, Wash., Harold of Vandalia; George, Chase and Wendell, all of Prairie City, and Wayne of Newton.
Mr. Miller operated a general store in Vandalia for many years until failing health forced his retirement.
He was a member of the Vandalia Church of Christ.
The son of Mr. and Mrs. Josiah Miller, he was born June 30, 1911 at Herman, Minn.
With his parents, he moved to Vandalia at an early age.
He was married to Florence Templeton at Runnells June 27, 1935.
