Mabel P. Osborn Rites Conducted
Prairie City – Funeral services for Mrs. Joseph (Mabel Pearl) Osborn, 71, a resident of Prairie City from 1940 to 1957, were held recently at the Church of the Brethren, south of Prairie City.
The Rev. Max Gumm, a former pastor of the church, conducted services. Burial was in the Vandalia Cemetery.
Memorial contributions to the Lung Association or the Cancer Society will be accepted.
Walters-Coburn Funeral Home handled arrangements.
Survivors are three sons, Eugene of Des Moines, Donald of Prairie City and Paul of Cerritos, Calif.; a daughter, Mrs. Mark (Betty Jo) Emble of Prairie City; 13 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
Also surviving are a brother, Jim Moore of Leon; and three sisters, Angie Rogers of Camdenton, Mo., Nell Hagen of Ridgeway, Mo., and Vena Willis of Norwalk, Calif.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, two sisters and three brothers.
Mrs. Osborn was a member of the Morgan Valley Christian Church, south of Prairie City.
The daughter of Andrew and Susan Kindred Moore, she was born Sept. 3, 1907 in Mercer County, Mo.
She was married Jan. 28, 1926 in Leon.
