Prairie City – Harold Charles Ingle, 77, of the Clearview Manor in Prairie City died Friday, March 27 at the Manor.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Vandalia Church of Christ.
The Rev. William Hensley, an evangelist from Lawrence, Kan., will conduct services. Burial will be in the Vandalia Cemetery.
Friends may call at the Walters-Coburn Funeral Home in Prairie City from 7 to 8 p.m. today.
Survivors are two sons, Larry of Newton and Duane of Traer; a daughter, Verlee (Mrs. J. R.) Covington of Enola, Ark.; 13 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.
Also surviving are eight brothers, Walter, Goldie, Gilbert and Glenn, all of Des Moines, Marvin of Vandalia, Paul of Runnells, Lester of Iowa Falls and Vern of Swan.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Nola, twin sons, granddaughter, a great-grandson and a sister.
Mr. Ingle, a member of the Church of Christ in Vandalia and the United Auto Workers Local 997, Retirees, had been an employee of the paint department at the Maytag Co. until retiring in 1972.
The son of Charles and Electa Miller Ingle, he was born Feb. 18, 1910 in Jasper County and was a 1928 graduate of Runnells Community High School.
He was married to Nola Daugherty March 5, 1929 in Ivy.
Mr. Ingle also had resided in Chariton for 13 years, returning to the area two years ago.
