Raymond J. Sedars, 73, of 821 E. 27th Court died of a heart ailment Friday at home. The body will be cremated following visitation. No services are planned.
Mr. Sedars was born in Adel and had lived in Des Moines most of his life. He was a retired switchman with Rock Island Railroad, an Army veteran of World War II and a member of Capitol Hill Christian Church.
Survivors include his wife, Virginia; two sons, Terry of Mount Pleasant and Michael Scott of De Sota, Kan.; a daughter, Sandra Jones of Arlington, Texas; a stepdaughter, Lee Anne Cross of Safety Harbor, Fla.; a brother, Art of Butte, Mont.; a sister, Margaret Madren of Redfield; seven grandchildren; two stepgrandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday at Hamilton’s Funeral Home.
