Houck, Frank B. – 1898-1933

Frank Houck, oldest son of Jake and Lillie Houck, was born June 2, 1898 and departed this life quickly at the hospital in Des Moines April 11, 1933 at the age of 34 years, 10 mo. and 9 days. Frank was a very likable young man spending much of his life around Vandalia and Runnells. He was united when young to Weltha Erskin and to this union one son Basil was born and who is now in school in Prairie City, Iowa. Again he united later with Miss Nellie Rose and one son and daughter were born. Frank is a brother to Bon, of Des Moines, Mrs. Jno. Routson, of Norwalk, Iowa and Mrs. Ford Watt near Prairie City, Ia. At time of his decease he was laboring with the Iowa Packing Co. at Des Moines.
A large crowd consisting nearly of all young men and women were present at his funeral and tho held at Lilly’s undertakers, yet a great crowd awaited the body at Vandalia cemetery. Service was conducted by Earl Warren of Ivy. Singing by the Sudduth sisters, April 14, 1933 at 2 o’clock.
