Colfax – Claire L. Pease, 87, a lifelong resident of Colfax, died Wednesday at the Iowa Lutheran Hospital in Des Moines.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the Walters Funeral Home in Colfax.
Burial will be in McKeever Cemetery north of Colfax.
Friends may call at the funeral home after 10 a.m. Friday.
Survivors are his wife, Verla; two sons, Claire Robert of Des Moines and James Howard of Colfax; a daughter, Mrs. Janet Wenes of Watertown, S.D.; six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Walter.
Mr. Pease, a retired farmer, was a member of the Colfax United Methodist Church.
The son of Galen and Minnie Johnson Pease, he was born July 19, 1896 in Poweshiek Township.
He was married to Verla Kern in 1917.
