Man 90 Years Old Found Dead
Albert Ortwieg Dies in Bed Either Saturday Night of Sunday Morning
Albert Ortwieg, 90 years of age, was found dead in bed at his home Sunday morning – having died some time Saturday night or Sunday morning.
Mr. Ortwieg had been in good health but Saturday he complained of his heart bothering him but as he did not think it serious his friends were not alarmed.
Ninety years ago September 5, Mr. Ortwieg was born in Germany where he lived until a half century ago when he came to America. He had been married four times. His last wife died five months ago.
Mr. Ortwieg was a member of the German Reform church but of late years attended the meetings at the Free Methodist church. He was a prosperous farmer and a progressive citizen who enjoyed the friendship of many.
He leaves his six children; Mrs. Ids Propps, of Newton; Albert Ortwieg of Marshalltown; Mrs. Minnie Lemke, of Kellogg; Herman Ortwieg, of Baxter; Adolph Ortwieg of Baxter; and Charles Ortwieg, of Santa Ana, California.
No funeral arrangements have yet been announced as the friends are waiting for word from relatives in a distance.
