Baxter – Golda, the fourteen-year old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Chas. Bishop, died at her home northwest of town last Friday. Her death was caused by typhoid fever. She was born June 17, 1892, and at the time of her death was aged 14 years, 2 months, and fourteen days. Her remains were removed to Baxter Saturday. The home surroundings being exceedingly unsanitary, and Mrs. Bishop also being afflicted with the same disease as that of her daughter, the K. P.’s of which Mr. Bishop is a member, fitted up a dwelling house in this place and removed the family to it.
Since arriving Mr. Bishop has been taken with the dreaded disease. A trained nurse is in charge of these sick people, and the K. P.’s are doing what they can to help the family over this rough and rugged road. The funeral of Golda was held at the Congregational church last Sunday at 2 p.m., the pastor of that church officiating. The remains were laid to rest at Independence cemetery. The parents and friends have the sympathies of all our people.
