Mrs. Bertha Freestone died quite unexpectedly at the home of her parents, A. M. Holsinger and wife, Sunday morning. She returned home Wednesday from Des Moines where she took treatment and seemed as well as usual until a short time before her death. She leaves four small children and it is a hard blow for her parents. Obituary next week.

Bertha Olive Holsinger was born April 8, 1884, at Mt. Morris, Ill.
With her parents she came to Iowa, and located in Polk County, living in and near Des Moines since. August 22, 1900, she was married to Wm. Roy Freestone. To this union four children were born, Violet 12 years, Edith 9, Orville 5, and Gladys Nadine aged two months. Mrs. Freestone died at the home of her parents, A. S. Holsinger and wife, Sunday, February 8, 1914, after a long illness with tuberculosis.
Besides her parents, husband and children she leaves two brothers, E. G. Holsinger, of Madrid; and Wm., of Des Moines; six sisters, Mrs. Blanche Turpin, of Des Moines; Mrs. Florence Lane, of Luther; Mary Welder, Maude Beem, Viola Meade and May Beem, of this township, to mourn the loss of young mother taken when it seemed her care was so much needed by the children. She was an active worker in the Oak Park Evangelical church, Des Moines, an industrious kind hearted woman who lived to make the world better.
The funeral was held at Ashton chapel Tuesday at 2 p.m., by her pastor, Rev. H. C. Powell, who gave a splendid talk on service, using for a text Luke 10:38-42. A quartette sang favorite hymns.
Interment was in the Ashton cemetery. Her brothers and sisters were present for the obsequies. Also her uncle, Ezra Lint and wife, of Des Moines, and Mr. Freestone’s father from near Des Moines.
