Steven Briggs Dies Suddenly
Steven Harvey Briggs, 11 months, son of Mr. and Mrs. Merle Briggs of 301 S. 1st Ave., died at 2 p.m. Friday at Evangelical Hospital, where he was taken when he became ill shortly before noon. Services will be Sunday at 3:30 p.m. at the Boyd-Nichol Funeral Home in Baxter with burial in Restland Cemetery there.
Steven was born in Marshalltown Oct. 20, 1953. Besides is parents, he is survived by a brother, Ronnie, 5, a sister, Kathie Lou, 3, and his grandparents, Mrs. Gertrude Cross of Baxter and Jesse Briggs of Green Bay, Wis.

Rites for Child To Be Held Sunday
Baxter (Special) – Funeral services for Steven Harvey Briggs of Marshalltown, 11-month old son of Mr. and Mrs. Merle Briggs, former Baxter residents, will be held at 3:30 p.m. Sunday at Boyd-Nickell Funeral Home.
The Rev. Harry E. Boughey will officiate at the services and burial will be at Restland cemetery.
The child died yesterday afternoon a few hours after being taken to the Deaconess hospital in Marshalltown.
Survivors, in addition to the parents, include a brother, Ronnie Harlan, 5, a sister, Kathie L, 3, and a maternal grandmother, Mrs. Gertrude Cross of Baxter.
