Harold Mahoney, 70, of Newton, died on August 11, 2021, at Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines. A Celebration of Life will be held on Monday, August 30, 2021, at Maytag Park from 12:30 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.

Harold, the son of, Tola (Talbert) and Harold Mahoney, was born on December 23, 1950, in Wisconsin. On March 17, 1973, Harold was united in marriage with Danielle “Mary” Malley. They lived in many places throughout their marriage, but they settled in Newton over 20 years ago. In Newton, Harold worked at Walmart.

Harold is survived by his children, David Mahoney of Newton, Frank (Jess) Mahoney of Newton, Jessamyn Mahoney of California, and Gabriella Mahoney of Newton; grandchildren, Jasmine, Evan, Elijah, Zayden, Abigail, Mackenzie, and Shaylyn; great-grandchildren, Harmony and Conner; his brothers and sisters; sister-in-law, Catherine Malley; and niece Helen Mahoney. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Mary Mahoney; and son, John Mahoney.
