LuAnn Whalen, 64, died July 25, 2021, in Round Rock, Texas in a single-vehicle car accident. There will be a celebration of life in both Newton and Round Rock, Texas at a future undetermined date.

LuAnn was born in Grinnell, July 30, 1956. She was the daughter of Daryle and Charlotte Whalen in Newton. Graduating from Newton High School in the Class of ’74 she eventually settled in Round Rock, Texas. She worked more than 20 years for Austin White Lime attaining the senior lead lab technician position.

LuAnn was a member of The Roadhouse family in Round Rock. She loved being with her friends and family. She was a long-time Steelers fan who enjoyed fantasy football, racing, camping and being with her dog, Abby. She was known for her non-judgmental character and a great laugh that filled the room.

LuAnn is survived by brother, Craig Whalen (Cheryl Whalen); her sons, Brandon Whalen (Allison Whalen) and Jacob Whalen; and grandchildren, Jackson, Kaiden, Kassius, Ariyah and Charlotte. She is also survived by several recently made family connections; a large extended family; and countless friends. She was predeceased by her parents, Daryle and Charlotte Whalen.
