Helen Joyce Tibboel, age 88 of Prairie CIty, passed away on Wednesday, July 21, 2021 at Comfort House in Pella. Funeral services will be held on Monday, July 26, 2021 at 10:00 am at the Prairie City Christian Reformed Church. Burial will take place at Waveland Cemetery.

Helen loved flowers and the family would like everyone to wear something floral in Helen's memory. Visitation will be on Sunday, July 25, 2021 from 2:00 - 4:00 pm at Coburn Funeral Home in Prairie CIty. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Prairie City Christian Reformed Church or Iowa Right to Life. Condolences may be left for the family at www.coburnfuneralhomes.com

The daughter of Tim and Geraldine (Rouw) Plate, Helen was born on April 18, 1933 in Monroe, Iowa. On July 2, 1952, Helen was united in marriage to John William Tibboel in Prairie City. Helen was a member of the Prairie City Christian Reformed Church. She had a very strong faith right up until her passing. She enjoyed flowers, going on rides with John in the country, baking and coloring with colored pencils. Her greatest joy, however, came from the time spent with her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Those left to honor her memory include her children, Dennis (Mary) Tibboel, Karen (Jim) Umble, Lola (Al) Benes, and Kenneth (Karla) Tibboel; a son-in-law, Glenn (Barb) Neideigh, nine grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren. Also surviving are her sisters, Joan Ryerkerk, Kathryn (Erwin) Frerichs, and Marge Van Wyk. Preceding Helen in death were her parents, husband in 2013 and a daughter Lila Rae in 2015, a granddaughter, Taylor, a great granddaughter, Jillian and her brothers, John, Edward and Donald.
