Rites for Minnie Schnathorst Will Be on Wednesday
Mrs. Minnie Schnathorst, 76, lifetime Jasper county resident and a member of the Daily News Three-Quarter Century club, died about 12:15 o’clock Monday noon at Skiff Memorial hospital.
Funeral service will be held at two o’clock Wednesday afternoon at St. John’s Evangelical church north of Newton. Prayer services at 1:30 o’clock at Morgan Funeral Home in Newton will precede the services at the church. Rev. Emil Burrichter, pastor of St. John’s will officiate at the rites. Burial will be in St. John’s cemetery.
Mrs. Schnathorst was born July 30, 1873, in Mariposa township. She was married in May, 1893 to August Schnathorst, who preceded her in death in 1929.
She was a loyal member of St. John’s church, in which she was confirmed at the age of 15. She was also a member of the Women’s Guild of the church and of the Women’s Relief Corps.
Surviving are her two daughters, Mrs. Clara Wirth and Mrs. Marie Eilert; four sons, Wilbert W., Vernon, Edward W. and Lloyd; 15 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. Louis Rader of Newton, and one brother, Will Ebert of Langdon, N.D.

Rites Are Held Today for Mrs. M. Schnathorst
Funeral services for Mrs. Minnie Schnathorst, 76, lifetime Jasper county resident, were held this afternoon at two o’clock at St. John’s Evangelical church north of Newton. Prayer services at 1:30 o’clock at the Morgan Funeral home preceded the rites.
Rev. Emil Burrichter, pastor of St. John’s, officiated at the rites. Music was furnished by Charles Korte, accompanied by Mrs. LeRoy Allspach. Pall bearers were Paul Thompson, Robert Schnathorst, Roy Eilert, Don Eilert, Dale Ebert and Clarence Ebert. Members of the flower committee were Mrs. Lydia Tinnermeier, Mrs. Percy Lufkin and Mrs. Fred Dammeier. Burial was at St. John’s cemetery.
Mrs. Schnathorst died Monday noon at Skiff Memorial hospital. She is survived by two daughters, four sons, 15 grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, one sister and one brother.
