Hills, Thomas William – 1867-1913

Thomas W. Hills for nearly 13 years a resident of this locality died at the Victoria Sanatorium at 3:30 p.m. Monday, June 30, after a lingering illness from typhoid and resulting complications.
He was born July 7, 1867, near Belleview, Jackson county, Iowa, and is survived by two brothers and three sisters. He was married to Miss Ella Currant July 4, 1898, and was the father of ten children, nine of whom with their mother survive.
He was a member of the Odd Fellows Lodge of this city and his funeral was in charge of that society from the Methodist church at p.m. Wednesday, conducted by the pastor, Rev. Edw. Pruitt. Interment at McKeever cemetery.
Those from a distance attending the funeral were his twin brother, B. F. Hills, Stanford, Montana; sister, Mrs. Anna Griffith, Swea City, Iowa; and brother, John J. Hills, of Garden City; also Mrs. Hills’ father, Mr. Currant, of Baldwin.
By his death this community loses a well respected citizen and his family a kind and indulgent parent.
