Mrs. Martha Ferris was born in Henry County, Ill., Feb. 26, 1843, and died at the home of her son-in-law David Levey, in Rathbun, Iowa July 11, 1905. Mrs. Ferris was married to Egert Ferris in 1863, and to them were born four children, her husband and one child having preceded her in death. She leaves three children and 7 grandchildren to mourn her loss.
Her remains were brought to Colfax and the funeral was held from the Methodist church last Friday afternoon being conducted by the pastor Rev. E. H. Fleisher. The interment was in the family burying grounds at McKeever cemetery.
