Mathursa Ely, for years a resident of Colfax, but lately residing with her son, Sam., at Guthrie Center, died there last Tuesday evening and was brought to Colfax, for interment at the McKeever graveyard north of Colfax, Iowa. Mrs. Ely was the widow of George Ely, and was between 65 and 70 years of age at the time of her death. She was an exemplary wife and loving mother, and as a friend and neighbor was esteemed as greatly during her useful life as she is now mourned.
