Joseph T. West, son of J. T. West, died at Helena, Montana, Tuesday, December 6, aged 33 years. He grew to manhood in this city and went to Helena several years ago. The remains were interred at Helena. Mr. West was unmarried and since leaving Colfax had been engaged in the telephone business.

Particulars received here of the death of Joseph T. West at Helena, Montana, mention of which was made last week, disclose the sad fact that he committed suicide by taking opium and inhaling gas. Despondency caused by illness was the cause of the rash act. The remains were buried at Helena and may be brought to Colfax later for interment beside his mother.
