Writing from Valeria, a lady sends us notice of the death on the 7th inst., at Patterson, Iowa, of Wendell Henninger, at the age of nearly 10 years, after a brief illness with blood poisoning resulting from a scratch on his foot. His body was taken to Valeria on the 9th where the funeral was conducted from the M.E. church by Rev. Williams, the interment being at Sams cemetery beside his two little brothers. The loss of this bright, manly boy is greatly mourned by all – the distressing circumstances of his death and funeral being saddened by the fact that his mother was in the hospital in Des Moines being treated for blood poison contracted while caring for Wendell in his last illness; but has since recovered.
