Conduct Decker Funeral Rites
Funeral services for Mrs. Charles Decker, 71, of near Colfax, were conducted at the Morgan Funeral home of Newton Wednesday with interment in the Rorabaugh cemetery. Rev. J. F. Phillips of Newton, pastor of the First Baptist Church, was in charge.
Pallbearers were A. J. Coffman, Fred Rorabaugh, G. H. Halliwill, E. S. Meckley, Carl Welcher and Everett Blom. Floral arrangements were made by Mrs. Fred Rorabaugh and Mrs. Carl Welcher.
A quartette, Mrs. B. F. Van Dyke, Mrs. Earl Plummer, B. F. Van Dyke and Gomer Williams, accompanied by Eleanor Howell, sang “Going Down the Valley” and “Beautiful Isle of Somewhere.”
Mrs. Decker was born April 12, 1868 in Jasper county, Ia. She had formerly been a resident of Newton, having moved near Colfax about a year ago.
Surviving relatives are her husband and a son, Glen, of near Colfax.
