Fred Rorabaugh Died Sunday At Home
Frederick O. Rorabaugh, 79, died during the night, Sunday, at his home in Newton. Mr. Rorabaugh was a lifetime resident of Jasper County and had farmed many years in the Colfax area, before moving to Newton, following his retirement 16 years ago.
The son of John and Julia Kelly Rorabaugh, he was born July 27, 1882 near Colfax. He was educated in the Jasper County schools. On Oct. 30, 1907, he was married to Mary Jane Hummel at Newton.
Mr. Rorabaugh was a member of the Colfax Methodist church, a charter member of the Jasper County Farm Bureau, a member of the Moose Lodge and served for four years with the National Guard.
Surviving him are his wife, Mary Jane, a daughter, Mrs. George (Wanda) Selbher of Newton, four sons, John of Colfax; R. G. at home, Rex of Colfax and Wayne of Reasnor, six grandchildren, one great-grandchild, a sister, Mrs. Harry Baker of Colfax, and a number of nieces and nephews.
Preceding Mr. Rorabaugh in death were a grandson, a sister, a brother and his parents.
Funeral services will be held Friday at 2 p.m. at the Colfax Methodist Church.
Burial will be in the Rorabaugh Cemetery.
