Mrs. Z. C. Jones, Lifetime County Resident, Dies
Mrs. Z. C. Jones, 56, prominent Newton woman died at 10:05 a.m. today at Skiff Memorial hospital where she had been a patient since Jan. 8.
Mrs. Jones had had surgery about a month ago and suffered several strokes since then. Her husband is the insurance man for the Farm Bureau.
Funeral services have been tentatively set for Tuesday at 2 p.m. at Toland Funeral Home. Burial will be in Union Chapel cemetery northwest of Ira.
Born Aug. 23, 1897, to Milton and Mary Cross, the deceased lived her entire life in Jasper county.
Survivors are her husband; four daughters, Mrs. Ogle (Mary) Minear of Des Moines; Mrs. Marion (Helen) Vander Werf, of Newton, Mrs. Mike (Verla) Bosovich of West Des Moines, and Mrs. John (Cleo) Billingsley of Cleveland Heights, Ohio; one son, Lowell M. Jones of Iowa City; and one brother, John Cross, Newton attorney. One son, Keith preceded her in death.
She was a member of the Congregational church.

Mrs. Jones Rites Will Be Tuesday
Funeral rites for Mrs. Z. C. Jones, 56, prominent Newton woman who died Saturday morning, will be Tuesday at 2 p.m. in Toland Funeral Home.
The Rev. Harry E. Boughey will officiate, and burial will be at Union Chapel cemetery near Ira.
Music will be furnished by Marion Welle, accompanied by Mrs. Paul Murdy at the organ. In charge of flowers are Mrs. Wilbur Lowery, Mrs. Ralph Hunter, Mrs. Clair Pease and Mrs. Otis Hopkins.
Pallbearers are Denver D. Cross, Clifford W. Cross, Francis Southern, Orval Weston, Eugene Jones and Barron Jones.
