C. S. Weston, 81, Of Baxter, Dies, Funeral Tuesday
Baxter (Special) – Funeral services for Chas S. Weston, 81, lifetime resident of Jasper county who died Saturday at Macomb, Ill., will be held tomorrow afternoon at two o’clock at the Baxter Congregational church.
Mr. Weston was in a Macomb hospital for seven weeks prior to his death. He was taken ill about two months ago and entered a Marshalltown hospital. His son, Dr. Leland Weston of Macomb, took Mr. Weston to Macomb about one week later.
Mr. Weston was born on a farm northwest of Ira on June 2, 1870 to John H. and Caroline Tramel Weston. Educated in Jasper county schools, on Nov. 27, 1895, he married Darlie Rumbaugh near Mingo. He lived his last 20 years in Baxter.
Survivors are his widow, the one son and wife, two grandsons, and three brothers, Sidney, Roy and Carl Weston.
Officiating at the services will be Rev. David Arnold and Rev. Thomas B. Dixon with burial in the Union Chapel cemetery at Ira. Boyd-Nickell Funeral Home of Baxter is in charge of arrangements.
Music will be by Mrs. Donald Poage, soloist, and Mrs. Donnell Deutsch, organist. In charge of flowers will be Mrs. John Boyd, Mrs. Donald Young and Mrs. Hale Nickell. Pallbearers will be Howard Tramel, Dennis Cummings, Floyd Whitehead, Orville, Donald and John Weston.
