Mrs. Price, 81, Of Baxter Dies, Funeral Sunday
Baxter (Special) – Mrs. Flora Price, 81, who lived most of his life in Jasper county, died this morning in Yonkers, N.Y., where she was visiting for the winter at the home of a daughter, Mrs. Raymond Doyle.
Mrs. Price was the widow of William I. Price who died last April.
She was born Flora Adelaide Allen on May 15, 1870, in Highland, Kan., and moved to Iowa when she was five years old. She taught school when a young woman, and on June 5, 1901, was married to Mr. Price at Tiffin, Ia.
The couple lived near Ira for a time and had lived in Baxter for many years.
Mrs. Price is survived by two sons and two daughters, Donald of Ames, Kenneth of Onawa, Mrs. Hugh Jontz, Route 1, and Mrs. Doyle.
Funeral services will be held in Baxter Sunday afternoon at two o’clock at the Congregational church. Officiating will be Rev. David E. Arnold, former Baxter pastor and now of Reinbeck, assisted by Rev. Thomas Dixon, Baxter. Burial will be in Union Chapel cemetery at Ira.
Mrs. Price was a member of the Congregational church, Women’s club and the Autumn Leaf club.
