W. I. Price Of Baxter Dies Today
Retired Bank Cashier Was Nearing 84 Years: Was Masonic Member
Baxter – W. I. Price, 83, who lived most of his life in Jasper county, died early this morning at his home in Baxter.
Mr. Price was retired, but did some business in insurance and real estate. He was formerly cashier at the Farmer Savings Bank at Ira.
Mr. Price was born near State Center on Nov. 9, 1866. He was a member of the Congregational church in Baxter and a member of the Masonic lodge.
He is survived by his widow, two daughters, Mrs. Hugh (Esther) Jontz, Route 1, Newton; Mrs. Raymond (Ruth) Doyle, Younkers, N.Y.; two sons, Donald, Ames, and Kenneth, Onawa one brother, Fred O. Price, Baxter, and six grandchildren.
Funeral arrangements are not complete.

Rites Monday For W. I. Price
Funeral services for William I. Price, 83, of Baxter, who died early Friday morning, will be held in the Baxter Congregational church at 2 o’clock Monday afternoon.
Rev. David Arnold will be in charge of the services assisted by Rev. Thomas Dixon. The Boyd Funeral Home is handling the arrangements.
Mr. Price had been a resident of Jasper county since 1880. He had operated a real estate and insurance agency in Baxter until poor health forced him to retire in 1946. Just one month before his death, Mr. Price had become a 50-year Mason
Mr. Price is survived by his wife, Mrs. Flora Allen Price, four children, and a brother, Frederick, of Baxter.
