Services Saturday For C. C. Wendt, 76, Father Newton Man
Funeral services for Charles C. Wendt, 76, father of Wendell Wendt who is office manager of The Daily News, will be held tomorrow afternoon at the Blust-Bertthusen Funeral Home in Avoca.
Mr. Wendt died Wednesday of heart disease. He operated a drug store in Avoca from 1899 to 1947, was treasurer of the school board for several terms and served as elder in the Avoca Presbyterian church for 23 years.
Surviving are his widow, Roze A. Wendt of Avoca; the one son, Wendell, and two grandchildren, Martha and Catherine Wendt of Newton.
