Jason Aric Lowry, age 32 of Mingo, passed away on Saturday, May 1, 2021. A Memorial service will be held on Thursday, May 6, 2021 at 1:30 pm at the Colfax United Methodist Church. Visitation will take place on Wednesday, May 5, 2021 from 6:00 - 8:00 pm at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the House of Mercy Newton or will go to establish a law scholarship in Jason's name. The son of Joe Lowry and Debra (Birchmier) Lowry, Jason was born on August 19, 1988 at Lutheran Hospital in Des Moines. He graduated from Colfax Mingo High School in 2007 and received his Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science from Iowa State University in 2011. Jason then enrolled at Drake University, where he earned his Law degree in 2014. He was baptized in the Colfax United Methodist Church.

Those left to honor his memory include his father, Joe Lowry; his mother, Debra Lowry and her fiance, Paul Redding; a brother, Jeremy Lowry; a sister, Calli Hustrulid and her husband, Matthew; his grandparents, Lawrence and Virginia Birchmier and his beloved cat, Maverick. Preceding him in death were his grandparents, Jim and Reva Lowry.
