G. Ruth Johnson, 88, of Des Moines, died of complications of diabetes Oct. 12, 1997 at Iowa Lutheran Hospital. Services were held Oct. 16 at Dahlstrom Funeral Home.
Mrs. Johnson, born in Marion County, had lived in Runnells before moving to Des Moines in 1945. She was a retired homemaker and seamstress and a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, the Martha Circle of her church and Volunteer Auxiliary for Iowa Lutheran Hospital.
Survivors include two sons, Jack of Des Moines and Robert of Scottsdale, Ariz.; two daughters, Carolyn Tagatz of Sun Lakes, Ariz., and Sue Renaud of Altoona; nine grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
Memorial contributions may be made to American Diabetes Association or her church.
