Gerald R. Gulling, age 78 of Newton, died Thursday, Feb 17, 2005, at his home.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 1 p.m. at Walters-Coburn Funeral Home in Colfax. Burial will be at Colfax Cemetery.

Family visitation will be held Tuesday from 11 a.m. until service time at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the Gerald Gulling Memorial Fund.

The son of Franklin Donald and Edith Ellen (Colby) Gulling, he was born April 22, 1926, in Percy. He worked as a cement finisher and enjoyed fishing, music and the outdoors.

He is survived by his children, Sherry Gulling of Grandview, Mo., Patsy Darr of Des Moines, Helen Faidley of Newton, Betty Spencer of Utah, Kathy Kelly of Dennison, Carol Miller of Mesa, Ariz., Linda Nehers of Hutchinson, Kan., Loretta Hemminger of Perry, Jessie Hemminger of Owensboro, Ky., Chuck Williams of Albia, Bill Williams of Mingo and Robert Williams of Omaha; 50 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; his sisters, Grace Langford of Knoxville and Florence Wardwell of Olympia, Wash.; and three brothers, Don of Missouri, Floyd of Texas and Ed of Omaha.

He was preceded in death by his parents; both of his wives; three sons, Gerald Jr., Larry and Timothy; a grandson; a great-grandson; three brothers; and three sisters.
