MITCHELLVILLE — James D. Chambers, 93, of Colfax died Thursday, June 9, 2005, at Mitchell Village Care Center in Mitchellville.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 10:30 a.m. at Walters-Coburn Funeral Home in Colfax. Burial will take place at the Colfax Cemetery.

Visitation will be today from 2 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorials may be given to the Colfax Senior Center.

The son of Clark and Mary (Wood) Chambers, he was born on Jan. 23, 1912, in Collins. On Aug. 30, 1937, Mr. Chambers was united in marriage to June Thompson in Bethany, Mo. He worked for 24 years delivering milk for Carnation. He grew up in Collins and lived there for 31 years before moving to Los Angeles, Calif., and moved to Colfax in his later years.

Survivors include a stepson, Harold L. (Freda) Thompson of Colfax; three grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife in 1991, three sisters and three brothers.
