Mrs. Barker, 54, Dies at Florida Home
Mrs. Earl W. Barker, 54, formerly of Mason City, died early Tuesday morning at her home in Palmetto, Fla., where she had lived for the past 24 years.
Mrs. Barker was born Hazel Hindman, at Enid, Okla., Dec. 25, 1898. As a child she moved with her parents from Enid to Colfax in 1904. She was married there to Earl W. Barker Dec. 27, 2016. They made their first residence in Des Moines and moved to Mason City in 1921.
Following the retirement of her husband from the Mason City Fire Department in 1945, they moved to Florida. She was a member of the Methodist Church of Palmetto.
Surviving are her husband, two daughters, Mrs. Orville (Leona) Jorgenson, Palmetto, and Mrs. Donald (Mildred) Smith, Mason City, and four grandchildren, two brothers, Glen Hindman, Palmetto, Fla., and Merle Hindman, Los Angeles. She was preceded in death by her parents.
Funeral services and burial will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. at Colfax.
