Ada Florence Wright was born to Joseph P. and Jennie A. Wright on November 17, 1885, in Jasper County, Monroe, Iowa.
She attended rural school and the Belvue Church in a community four miles north of Monroe, Iowa. In her early adulthood, she was a dressmaker, living with her mother in Monroe, Iowa. After the death of her mother in 1929, she lived for some time with a brother, Burton, in California.
She was a housekeeper for Dr. Hatch in Des Moines and for Mr. Henry in Monroe, for a number of years until she came to live with a sister, Mrs. Cora Balmer, of Indianola, about 1940.
Ada was preceded in death by three brothers; Charles Burton, Arthur Preston, and Clyde Johnson, and two sisters; Cora and Ella May.
Ada passed away on April 3, 1954, in Indianola, Iowa, at the age of 68 years, 4 months, and 17 days. To mourn her departure from this earth are nieces and nephews; Earl Gifford, Omaha, Nebraska; Cleo Wright, Monroe, Iowa; Florence Balmer McGinnis, West Mansfield, Ohio; Gladys Gifford Nicholson, Fort Dodge, Iowa; Edith Balmer, Indianola, Iowa; Milton Wright and Dale Wright, both from Des Moines, Iowa; grandniece, Mavis Nicholson, Omaha, Nebraska; Phyllis Nicholson Brinton, Fort Dodge, Iowa; Deloris Wright, Monroe, Iowa; grandnephews Warren, Dennis, Ronald and Steven Wright of Des Moines and Merlyn Stringer, Farnhamville, Iowa; great-grandnieces: Kathleen and Marjorie Brinton of Fort Dodge, Iowa and great-grandnephew Thomas Stringer of Farnhamville, Iowa.
