Prairie City News – Mrs. G. N. Keeney, 84, of Vandalia passed away Monday, July 13, after a lingering illness. Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon from the Church of the Brethren south of Prairie City. Rev. Edward Zook, her pastor, and Rev. Robert Anderson, pastor of the Vandalia Four Square Church, were in charge of the service. Wm. Van Zee was soloist, accompanied by Mrs. Van Zee. Survivors are her husband, three sons, Morris of Prairie City, Laurence of Grinnell, and Paul of Runnells; nine grandchildren; four great-grandchildren, and many other relatives and friends. Burial was in Vandalia Cemetery.
