Graveside Services will be held
Monday, December 7, 2020 at 2:00 pm
Sully Cemetery, Sully, Iowa
A procession will form at the Sully Christian Reformed Church in Sully, Iowa.

Visitation will be Sunday, December 6, 2020, from 3:00 to 5:00 pm at Van Dyk- Duven Funeral Home in Pella without the family present.

Memorial contributions may be given for the Sully Christian School or the Sully Christian Reformed Church for their mission fund.

Ernestine Wilhelmina Dieleman was born January 2, 1923, to Kors and Jennie (Nikkel) Harthoorn, near Lynnville, Iowa. She passed away on December 2, 2020, at Mercy Hospital in Iowa City, Iowa one month prior to her 98th birthday.

Ernie attended Black Oak School near Lynnville, Iowa through the 8th grade and lived in the Kellogg - Sully – Newton, Iowa area her entire life.

On February 25, 1943, she was united in marriage with Harry William Dieleman. Together they made their home on the farm and were blessed with four children: Wayne Edwin, Gerald Eugene, Ruth Elaine, and Carla Rae.

Ernie was a lifelong homemaker. She spent hours working in her vegetable garden, canning and took great joy in her flowers. She enjoyed playing games and visiting with her grandchildren and friends. She was a faithful member of the Sully Christian Reformed Church in Sully, Iowa.

Those left to cherish her memory are three children and their spouses; two daughters-in-law; eleven grandchildren, twenty-five great- grandchildren and one great-great- grandchild:

She is also survived by one sister-in-law, Bernice (Louis) Dieleman of Pella, Iowa. Ernestine was preceded in death by her husband, Harry in 1996, her son, Gerald in 1972; her parents, Kors and Jennie; and all of her siblings: Francis (Bill) Vander Zyl, Cornelia (Henry) Maasdam, Cornelius (Nellie) Harthoorn, Cora (Henry) Jansen, Jennie (Gilbert) Stravers, Dorothy (Charles) Conover, and a brother in infancy.
