Judy Louise Lowe, 75 of Prairie City, Iowa, passed away on December 2, 2020 in Des Moines, Iowa.

Judy was born in Des Moines, Iowa to George Samuel and Luella Florence (Gilbert) Tucker on December 5, 1944. She attended Des Moines East High School where she graduated in 1962. She was married on March 1, 1963 to John Wesley Lowe in Des Moines, Iowa.

She worked for Principal Financial Group (formerly Bankers Life) for 30 years before retiring in 2009.

In retirement she loved spending time with their dog Missy, reading to the local grade school students, and helping with pre-game meals for the high school students. She enjoyed puzzles, reading books and was part of the local library book club. She was also a regular member of the Prairie City Christian Church along with the coffee and Bible Study groups.

Holidays were her favorite times of the year. Especially Christmas. Being together during the holidays was everything to her. She also loved having the grandchildren over for sleep overs. It was the only time she would make homemade pizza, so it was a bonus for Grandpa as well.

Judy is preceded in death by her parents George and Luella, her younger brother George Elliott Tucker, and her husband of fifty years John Wesley Lowe.

Judy is survived by her younger sister Connie (Jim) Cole, her son Michael (Lorna) Lowe, her son Edward (Helen) Lowe, her son William Lowe, Grandchildren Christopher, Kenneth, Tyler (Ashley), and Rosita, her great-granddaughter Alivia, and dozens of nieces and nephews.

Due to COVID-19 concerns, burial will be at Laurel Hill Cemetery in Des Moines, Iowa. This will be a private service and we ask that this be for the immediate family only. A celebration in life will be held later in the Spring/Summer.

Rather than sending flowers, please make donations to the Pleasant Hill Fire Department or the Animal Rescue League of Iowa.
