Arthur “Tobie” Tobin, 76, of Cambridge, died Wednesday, Jan. 11, at Chesterfield, Mo. Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 14, at Maxwell Christian Church, with pastors Ron Kooyman and Tom Lee officiating. Burial will be in Graham Cemetery in Mingo.
Arthur was born Feb. 26, 1929, in Colfax, the son of Arnold and Mary Elizabeth (Lewis) Tobin. A farmer, he served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. He accepted the Lord as his savior in 1955 at Evangelical United Brethren Church in Nevada. He loved the Lord, loved singing Christian songs and hearing the message of the Lord preached. He was a former member of Des Moines Bible Study Fellowship.
He is survived by special lifelong friends, Ionia Dykstra of Cambridge and Arlen Dykstra of Ballwin, Mo., as well as nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters, Norma (Darvin) Smith and Bernice (Elbert) Lowe.
Visitation will be two hours prior to the funeral service.
Soderstrum-Rus Funeral Home of Slater is in charge of arrangements.
